Exhaust and First Time Welding!

Finally bolted on and ready for next stage.( sorry...bad photo)..the electrical...

DONE! not A+ work but good enough for me. Next on the list is getting the clutch cable to work which will involve some cutting and then finally getting the basic electrical hooked up so I can run the motor.

Ok...finished the welding and most of the grinding last night. Looks a lot better. I will grind/sand and paint tonight.

I finally got a project to practice welding on. I got a 90amp flux welder from Harbor Freight for $99. Easy to use . Jig sawed off the mount, ground down the old weld and got rid of the burs, wire brushed off the paint with a wire wheel brush on a drill and welded on the mount an inch further back (where it was supposed to be in the first place). I did a series of spot welds. The splattering occurred when I had the welder on the lower setting. It didn't do it as much on the higher settings. Ugly welds but strong enough for an exhaust pipe. I ground down the welds a bit to see where I need to finish welding. I will do that the next time its not raining. I will then grind smooth, prime and paint.Hopefully the amatuer  "Ugly" welds won't be to noticeable.
